I own a Manchester based care company that has been operating since 2009.
This website and accompanying blog aims to give you honest insights into the challenges and successes into my life as a Care Manager.
Please take a look around and if the content is of interest, feel free to sign up below for my free monthly newsletter.
You'll be forgiven, having hopefully had a look around my site, for thinking that I've got it all together. That I set up a business in 2009 and it's been all roses and sunshine since and that I'm happy all the time, and know exactly what I'm doing. I don't.
If I was a social media influencer (which I'm certainly not), I could quite easily make you think I was winning at life. I've got two beautiful kids, I'm happily married, I go on nice holidays, I'm successfully self employed, I live in the countryside and I exercise all the time. It would be easy for me to show this stuff to the world. But the real truth is that that's only a snapshot. I'd be ignoring the rest of it.
And that's really why I have created this website and my blog - Diary of a Care Manager.
Because life is difficult at times. Running a business is difficult at times. And I want to shine a light on what it's really like to do what I do and what it's really like to live a life, with all it's up and downs.
And with my tendancy to want to help people I will hopefully also share some wisdom along the way. Things I've learned. Mistakes I've made. And most of the time advice I need to hear myself.
Life can be great but it can also be messy and confusing and we're all doing our best to navigate it. So I'm going to spread some honesty and hopefully we can help each other out along the way.
I won't be sending loads of emails filled with things you are not interested in. It'll be one, maybe two emails per month, which I will try my best to make witty, funny, insightful and interesting to read.
With a caveat - I'm not an author or comedian and this is my first ever attempt at blogging, so please go easy on me.
I will always try to be honest.
About how I'm feeling, about what I'm going through and what challenges I am facing. Good or bad.
So sometimes it will be upbeat and funny, sometimes it will be reflective and sometimes it will downright miserable.
Because that's life, right?
Whilst I occasionally might point you in the direction of the care services we offer. Or provide updates about business comings and goings. That is not the primary aim of the blog, or this website.
So you can rest easy knowing I won't be bombarding you with crappy sales emails that you neither want nor need.
Be ready to read about life and living and everything that brings, becasue this blog ain't just about work.
Sign up to hear no nonsense and interesting insights into what it's like running a care company. I promise I won't spam you. Two emails a month, max.
